About Brahmanbaria

Brahmanbaria is a culturally rich district located in the eastern part of Bangladesh. It is known for its classical music legacy, serene rivers like the Titas and Meghna, and vibrant rural traditions. As part of the Chattogram Division, it serves as a major cultural and economic hub in the region.

History

Once part of the greater Tripura district during the Mughal period, Brahmanbaria became its own district in 1984. It played an important role in Bangladesh’s Language Movement and Liberation War. The town's roots in classical music go back centuries, making it one of the cultural capitals of Bangladesh.
